Dedicated to Justice for Victims

The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division is dedicated to conducting thorough, professional investigations and seeking justice for victims. Our team works diligently to follow up on reported crimes, gather and analyze facts, and support the prosecution process in coordination with the District Attorney’s Office. We are committed to professionalism, accountability, and serving the residents of Imperial County.

OUR TEAM

Experienced Investigators

The division is comprised of one Investigations Sergeant, six Investigators, and one Office Technician. Investigators are cross trained to manage a wide range of criminal cases and may also be assigned to specialized roles, including partnerships with federal task forces and local organizations such as the Farm Bureau. This structure allows for flexibility, experience, and a collaborative approach to investigations.

INVESTIGATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

What We Handle

The Investigations Division handles cases involving both property crimes and crimes against persons within the Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction and assists allied agencies as needed.
Investigators are responsible for:

  • Conducting interviews and follow-up investigations
  • Serving arrest and search warrants
  • Performing surveillance operations
  • Collecting and analyzing evidence and intelligence
  • Preparing cases for prosecution

SPECIALIZED FUNCTIONS

Additional Responsibilities

In addition to general investigations, the division manages several specialized responsibilities, including:

  • Crime registrant tracking and compliance
  • Drone operations
  • Program liaison assignments
  • Investigation of criminal incidents related to the Imperial County Jail

PARTNERSHIPS & COLLABORATION

Working With Allied Agencies

The Investigations Division works closely with local, state, and federal partners. These include local police departments, the District Attorney’s Office, Child and Adult Protective Services, and victim support organizations.

Investigators also assist outside agencies with cases involving Imperial County residents, even when incidents occur outside of the county.
