About S.A.L.
Imperial County Sheriff’s Activities League
The Imperial County Sheriff’s Activities League (SAL) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and is part of the Imperial County Sheriff’s Volunteer Services. Our mission is to reduce juvenile crime and delinquency by building positive relationships between law enforcement and youth through meaningful programs and activities that promote discipline, trust, and mutual respect.
Sports & Cultural Programs
Recreation, Education & Leadership for Youth
SAL provides recreational, educational, and leadership opportunities for youth up to 18 years of age. Our sports and cultural programs are led by dedicated volunteer coaches and instructors who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of Imperial Valley youth.
- Soccer — Team play, fitness, and sportsmanship
- Polynesian Dance — Cultural expression and performance
- Ballet — Discipline, artistry, and confidence
SAL supports our volunteers by assisting with team organization, equipment, travel arrangements, registration, insurance, and fundraising efforts to help ensure the success of each program.
Educational Programs
Building Skills, Confidence & Character
In partnership with the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office, SAL also offers educational and community-based programs that give youth tools for healthy decision-making and leadership:
- Summer Program — Activities and enrichment when school is out.
- Drug Store Program — Awareness and prevention education.
- Youth Leadership Program — Skills, mentorship, and leadership development.
- Girls Circle — Mentoring and support for young women.
Community Partnerships
Stronger Together
SAL is a proud member of the Imperial Valley Children’s Coalition and participates in joint activities that bring families and youth together throughout the year, including Fair Days, Summer Movie Days, and the Shoe Shopping Spree.
Outreach & Family Support
Supporting Local Families
Committed to strengthening our community, SAL supports local families through outreach initiatives that put resources directly into the hands of kids and parents who need them most:
- Back-to-School Shopping Spree — Supplies and clothing to start the school year strong.
- Food & Toy Drive — Annual holiday support for Imperial County families.
Through these efforts, we continue working to create positive opportunities and lasting connections for youth and families throughout Imperial County.
